There is a Wal-Mart, KFC and Pizza Hut right around the corner. So we ventured out. We were quickly intimidated by everything and returned for lunch at the hotel.
We are fish out of water, and quite intriguing. A lady stopped us and wanted to touch the boys' hair and have her picture taken with them. We smiled and then headed to Wal-Mart.
Today is now Sunday, 10/10 and we are returning from our BIG adventure around town.
We had our first Taxi ride which, thankfully was uneventful. We went to a park and explored amusement rides, boats, and lots of people watching. We watched them, and they certainly watched us. We have seen no other Western people, just us. Again, someone asked us to pose for a picture with them. We are probably the first Westerners most people have seen.
We also met the 4 other families in our group, which was MUCH needed. This process is more intimidating than before. We will go back and have dinner with the families, and then return to our hideout.
We considered moving to the other hotel, but changed our mind upon arrival. We are glad we are at the Marriott, but it is kind of lonely. Lonely in a city of almost 7 million! This place is HUGE!
We are not feeling brave enough to really go explore, so we bought some toys at Wal-Mart and the boys are playing, and we are relaxing.
We meet Alexa Ling Overman on Monday sometime between 2pm and 3pm. Please pray for us, as we are really scared of this meeting!
I will try and post pictures separately, but it can be slow. All for now.
